Cummins East Asia R&D Co., Ltd.
Cummins East Asia R&D Co., Ltd. was established on January 28, 2005. It is a Sino-foreign joint venture jointly held by Cummins (China) Investment Co., LTD., Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. and others.
In July 2005, Cummins and Dongfeng Motor Corporation jointly established the East Asia Research and Development Center in Wuhan, which became its largest technology center outside the United States. In 2019, an additional investment of 150 million US dollars was made to build a new base. In December 2022, it was relocated to Junshan New Town, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, with the area expanded to 78,000 square meters and 28 new test benches added, including hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen internal combustion engines. The research and development achievements include technical products such as diesel generator sets and natural gas engines, targeting the Chinese and European and American markets.
